| I took this photo at Herndon Cemetery near Springfield, Missouri
in October 2002. This grave is said to be for the father of Kenneth
Painter, died 1907. This marker is not from the time period of Jacob's
death. It was probably placed some years later. I have eleven different
sources of information for Jacob's birth date and place. The dates
range from 1796 to 1818, with most citing his birth year as 1810.
These eleven different sources point to Virginia, North Carolina,
Kentucky and Tennessee as the place of his birth. Most give North
Carolina. |
